Plastic IBC containers and big bags do their job, but they involve costs that are not always visible on the invoice. They are heavy, which drives up transport costs. They must be cleaned for reuse, costing time and water. And at the end of their life cycle, they are difficult to recycle.
For bulk products transported once, cardboard is the smarter choice in most cases.
An octabin is an octagonal cardboard box on a pallet for the transport and storage of bulk goods. The octagonal shape distributes the pressure of the poured product across the walls better than a square box, causing the walls to bulge less when fully loaded.
Octabins are filled through the open top and emptied via a flap or opening at the bottom. They are stackable, optionally available with an automatic bottom, and fully recyclable after use.
